About Me
My name is Maz, I'm 22 years old and from the south of England.
I have seven pets: five cats and two dogs.
I have four siblings: two brothers and two sisters - and a niece and a nephew.
I live with my parents and younger sister, but I'm hoping to move out on my own soon.
I currently don't have a "real" job, due to illness, but I do work part-time for a company online.
I'm currently studying short university courses, in preparation for starting a 'proper' one later in the year.
Online
I have been "making websites" since I was 17. I started off with a really crappy site (and I use that term very loosely) on Matmice. After about a year I started learning HTML (or, perhaps, learning how to copy and paste HTML) and opened a cartoon doll site, Iridescence.
I then opened a blog, which was terribly coded too. I learned a bit more HTML, no longer relying solely on crappy tutorials and opened a hand drawn doll site, Ultraviolet Dolls (UVDolls).
A few years went by and I updated Iridescence fairly regularly, wrote blog entries occasionally, and pretty much abandoned UVDolls.
I got into the whole Myspace resource site thing and opened one of them - My Fab Space.
By then I knew a fair amount about HTML so reopened my blog under a new domain and revamped Iridescence, completely recoding it and converting it to a CSS layout, rather than iframes. I opened another Myspace resource site (WTF? I know), called Myspace Graphiks, and updated My Fab Space, using a CSS layout. I then got my hands on a great glitter generator script so opened a site that is one big glitter generator, Say it with Glitter.
Eventually I decided to validate my blog, so I skinned it and converted it to XHTML strict. I got a bit bored with my Myspace sites, so combined them to make just the one, Booak, which focuses on other social networking sites, not just Myspace.
Then I validated Iridescence.
I then decided to revamp UVDolls, which was still using iframes and hadn't been updated for three years. I started using Wordpress and re-shaded all the doll bases.
Finally, I decided it was time to open Little Hands. I had had the domain for a couple of years and had started to put it together a year - year and a half before actually opening it.
And that's it, my latest site. You can visit my others by visiting my site collective. I don't link to my blog there (or here) though, I don't want certain (offline) people finding it. ;)
I spend quite a lot of my online time on forums, and I spend most of that on Buzz, where I am an admonistrator. It's mainly made up of girls, though we have a few male members, who we love. It's dedicated mostly to graphics/site making, though it's more of a community than anything. A lot of members don't make graphics or even own a site.
Graphics
I love making all sorts of graphics. Obviously I like pixelling, though my technique could do with some refining. I also love making hand drawn dolls - that's probably my favourite.
I also like to have a go at vexels/vectors, glitter graphics/images, layouts, anything really.
My favourite graphic program is Paint Shop Pro, although I use Photoshop for a few things, and sometimes MS Paint for pixelling.
Other Hobbies and Loves
I love to write, I like writing anything. I'm not great at it, but I still like it. I also like reading - I'm a bit of a "chick lit" fan. I'm not a big lover of science fiction or historical novels. I despise Twilight.
I am a TV addict. I watch a lot of things: soap operas, drama, comedy, reality TV, most genres. I have a particular soft spot for "comedy quizzes" such as Mock the Weak, 8 out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, etc..
I also love music. I don't have a real favourite group/artist at the moment, though I'm loving La Roux and Lady GaGa at the moment. My all-time favourite band is Abba. I love cheesy pop, and a lot of stuff from the 90s.
I love, love, love chocolate. Chocolate cake, chocolate biscuits, chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate, chocolate mikshake... *drools*... and especially chocolate on its own.
